Close Encounters of the Second Kind. It all begins with an email! You’ll find a button at the bottom of every page that will give you direct access to my email. Simply send me a message with as much detail as possible including your name, business name, and any ideas you may have (don’t worry if you don’t have any ideas, that’s what I’m here for!). Also feel free to send me a link to your website and/or social media. All of this information will help me provide you with an accurate quote as well as allow me to start brainstorming ideas that I will provide for you in the next phase.
Development
Brainstorming. This part is important. After the initial back and forth via email, I like to set up a short meeting, ideally at your place of business. This allows me to interact with you one on one, to hear and discuss your vision and gives me a chance to see what the location is like so that I may decide on lighting, audio, lenses, etc. By the time our meeting ends, we will both have a game plan and a rough outline for your video!
Pre-Production
Creating the story. This is the phase in which I really go to work. Based on everything we’ve discussed, I will create a script, storyboards, shot list and shot map. This is also the phase in which, if applicable, I will hire talent and lock locations for all of our filming needs. Depending on the intricacy of the project, this phase can take a couple of days to about a week to complete.
Production
Lights… Camera… Action! The fun Part! We have our plan, our script, our talent, and everything else on our list. Now it’s time to film! The timing of this process is dependent on the content of your video and whether or not there are multiple locations. It can take anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days to film everything we’ve planned. But this is the moment that we capture everything that we are going to use in your video. I will arrive on location with all of the necessary equipment at the time appointed. I will set up everything we need to film, then it’s time to rock and roll… the camera!
Post-Production
Where the movie-magic happens. Now that I have all of our footage, it’s time to bring your vision to life. The edit is where I play Doctor Frankenstein and piece everything together clip by clip. I’ll also add music, voice-over, sound effects, video effects and titles. This process can take anywhere from several days to several weeks depending on how long and intricate the video is. When all is cut and done, I step out of my dark studio like a maniac screaming… “It’s alive!”
Delivery
Go Long! Render. Export. Deliver. It’s really that simple. After the edit is complete, I will send you an initial copy to review. I offer the opportunity to make any changes once, though in my experience, this is a rare request as I always stick to the game plan. However, should there be anything that you would like changed, I will happily oblige. Once the edit is finalized I will send you a 4K render of your video that you can share anywhere you’d like!
